Young Wild Connections

Young Wild Connections program, run by Conservation Volunteers Port Macquarie, is a fantastic series of activities held to connect NSW Premier’s Student Volunteering Award participants with the natural environment whilst promoting sustainability, conservation and health in the outdoors.

A range of voluntary conservation activities are possible including: tree planting, weed control, track work, beach clean ups, surveys and more. One of the projects students will be actively involved in is the creation of a mountain bike trail located at Wayne Richards Park in Port Macquarie.

As a Registered Training Organisation, CV offers the Conservation Volunteers Training Program including 4 modules of recognised training at AQF Level 1. Participants can choose to sign up for the program and on successful completion of the modules and 30 hours of logged volunteering will receive a Statement of Attainment.

Partners are Conservation Volunteers Port Macquarie, Department of Education and Training North Coast Region and heritage Christian School.

This project is funded by Communities NSW through the Better Futures Strategy. Better Futures is a prevention and early intervention program which aims to improve outcomes for young people and is a New South Wales government initiative to improve support and services for children and young people aged 9 to 18 years.
